About Health City Cayman Islands

Health City Cayman Islands is committed to providing high quality, patient-centred and affordable healthcare. We do so from our world-class medical and surgical facility located near High Rock in the district of East End, Grand Cayman. Recognised as one of the best hospitals in the Caribbean, Health City is the epitome of what a destination medical centre and medical tourism facility should reflect. There is a conscious mission to provide the highest standards of affordable healthcare, while surrounding patients in a warm, positive, healing environment that supports achieving the best outcomes.

At Health City, our renowned heart surgeons, orthopaedic surgeons, medical specialists and patient relations team members meet the needs of the local Cayman Island community, the broader Caribbean and discerning healthcare consumers from across the United States and Latin America. Utilizing best practices, quality assurance, innovation and continuous learning, our dedicated physicians and medical professionals deliver high quality, affordable healthcare in the following specialties:

Who Are We? A Compassionate, Patient-Centric Hospital

Health City Cayman Islands was born from the vision of internationally-renowned heart surgeon and humanitarian, Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty. Our tertiary care facility is supported by two major healthcare organizations, Narayana Health Group of Hospitals and Ascension.

Narayana Health is one of the world’s most cost-efficient healthcare service providers, balancing quality healthcare with affordability, transparency and compassion. Ascension is the largest faith-based and largest non-profit health system in the United States, dedicated to transforming healthcare by providing high quality care to all, but with a special focus on the poor and vulnerable. Dr. Shetty serves as Chairman of Narayana Health and oversees a network of 26 hospitals across India and the Cayman Islands. All three organizations – Health City Cayman Islands, Narayana Health and Ascension – have shared values and the mission to make high quality healthcare accessible to all.

As Dr. Shetty has said, “It (healthcare) is not a solution, if it is not affordable.”

Driven by this mission, and given its beautiful, tranquil tropical location, Health City Cayman Islands is ideally-suited to provide truly patient-focused care, where healing and recovery can be best supported.

The Pathway to Accessible, Quality Healthcare for All

Health City Cayman Islands is already providing high quality, affordable healthcare. It is our mission, however, to expand and offer broader healthcare services accessible to many more. Health City is now a JCI (Joint Commission International, USA) accredited facility providing care in all major specialties including neurology, oncology and other leading-edge tertiary care services. Additionally, plans are underway for Health City to expand to a 2,000 bed facility with an adjoining hotel for patients to stay before their procedures and in after-care, and where family members can stay while their loved one is treated. Other future plans include the development of a medical academic centre and an assisted-living community.
