Who Are We: Compassionate, Patient-Centric Cayman Hospital

Health City Cayman Islands is the vision of famed heart surgeon and humanitarian, Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty, and is supported by two major healthcare organisations, Narayana Health and U.S. based Ascension. As Chairman of Narayana Health, Dr. Shetty oversees a network of 26 hospitals across India and now the Cayman Islands. Narayana Health and Ascension share compatible values: NH has a commitment to high-quality care for people regardless of their ability to pay and Ascension is dedicated to furthering its mission of serving all persons with special attention to those who are poor and vulnerable.

Health City Cayman Islands’ initiative gives the partners the opportunity to positively impact the care being provided in the Cayman Islands, the Caribbean region and to those travelling from overseas. In addition, Health City Cayman Islands will serve those who are poor and vulnerable by providing them high-quality healthcare services.

Located near High Rock in the East End District of Grand Cayman, Health City is the perfect location for quality, patient-centred care with a relaxing view of the tropical environment and exotic, indigenous vegetation.

The Road to Accessible International Healthcare for All

Over the next decade, Health City Cayman Islands will expand to a 2,000-bed facility. The state-of-the art hospital is in the process of becoming a JCI (Joint Commission International, USA) Accredited facility providing care in all major specialties that will include neurology, oncology and other cutting edge tertiary care services.

The next phase in the project will be to build a 300-bed unit dedicated to neurology and oncology, scheduled to begin in late 2015. The innovative, modern complex is also planned to have a medical university and an assisted-care living community. Work is also expected to begin later this year on a hotel for guests visiting their loved ones at Health City.
