For the month of April we are offering a lung cancer screening for only CI$50 so you can scan earlier and breathe easier. If lung cancer is detected at an early stage, it's more likely to be cured with treatment.
The promotion is best for people who are:
- 50 years and older
- Have a history of smoking
- Current smokers and those who have quit within the last 15 years
- People with a history of lung cancer
People who meet the criteria will be provided a low-dose CT scan at Health City’s hospital at East End. If results of the scan are regular, you will receive notification from our nursing staff. If further follow-up is required a consultation with Health City’s lung health specialist, Dr. Archita Joshi-Bhatt will be arranged.
A low-dose CT scan is a special kind of X-ray that takes multiple pictures as you lie on a table that slides in and out of the machine. A computer then combines these images into a detailed picture of your lungs. The scan takes only a few minutes and is not painful. Studies show lung cancer screening reduces the risk of dying of lung cancer because by the time lung cancer signs and symptoms develop, the cancer is usually too advanced for curative treatment.
