Since its inception in February 2014, Health City Cayman Islands. a state-of-the-art tertiary care hospital has stood as a model for future healthcare facilities. It was designed and constructed by DeAngelis Diamond Healthcare Group, a member of the United States Green Building Council. The structure reflects the founders’ commitment to self-sufficiency, sustainability and their mission of providing high-tech affordable healthcare in a setting which places patients’ well-being, safety, and dignity, first and foremost.
Built to withstand the rigors of a Category 5 Hurricane, the 104-bed tertiary care hospital features a reinforced roof, walls, doors and windows. There are back-up generators and all of its critical assets are shielded from flooding. Highlights of our facilities include:
- Private and semi-private patient rooms
- Intensive Care Unit (ICU) suite with 17 ICU beds, a 2-bed triage and 4-bed recovery unit

- Two hybrid operating theatres
- Laboratory operating on a 24/7 basis for both inpatient and outpatient services
- Imaging suite encompassing MRI, gamma camera, nuclear medicine, and CT room

The Future is at Health City Cayman Islands
As the Cayman Islands’ first JCI accredited tertiary care hospital, we serve as a model for future healthcare facilities. We are committed to incorporating and developing best practices in a continuous learning environment, sharing the resulting knowledge to enact meaningful change. Our ultimate mission is to transform healthcare across the globe and make it more affordable and accessible to all. To support this goal, we plan to add new medical specialties on an evolving basis. - Increasing our hospital from 104 beds to a 2,000 bed facility, with a 300-bed unit dedicated to neurology and cancer care
- Constructing an academic institution and biotech research facility
- Adding an assisted-living community that offers safe, affordable living quarters to older adults
- Building two adjoining hotels where patients can comfortably stay before and after procedures. These properties will also enable family members to stay close to their loved ones while they are receiving medical care.
